Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how this calculator (the “Service”) handles data when you use it. The Service is operated by Tom Heston and is intended for researchers and other users who wish to explore fragility metrics. This page describes what information is logged, how it is used, and what is not collected.
Data Collection
When you use the calculator, we log only the calculation inputs and outputs and similar data needed to detect errors, measure performance, and produce aggregate usage statistics. These logs are stored without names, emails, or other direct identifiers, and are used solely to improve the reliability and correctness of the calculator. Our hosting provider and infrastructure may temporarily process standard technical information (such as IP addresses) in server logs to deliver and protect the Service; we do not access or use those logs to identify individual users, and they are rotated or removed by the hosting provider after a limited retention period (for example, approximately 7 days on shared hosting). We use GoDaddy shared hosting services.
We aim to ensure the calculator provides mathematically correct results that researchers can trust; however, perfection is not guaranteed. We encourage users to verify our results, and suggest improvements on our GitHub Discussion Board.
